i worked at 2 great at-home agencies, www.liveops.com (2006-2009) and teletech. (two years, approximately 2006-2008) they are both WONDERFUL companies to work for. all legitimate. no outgoing sales, although you can sign up for that with liveops. i worked all incoming customer service calls. if you're interested, don't give up. keep applying and checking on your status. submit a resume that will focus on "phone" experience and getting along with people. with liveops, YOU pick your own hours through 30 minute scheduling blocks. it will probably take about 2 months before you know the routine and are getting as many hours as you want and there are times when business is slow, but you can always take advantage of it by doing paperwork, crafts, etc till calls start coming in. now (holidays) is a wonderful time to get on and since YOU decide which 30 minute shifts you want, you can always work liveops as a second job. teletech is still only part-time, but they used to be a wonderful group. i was in the first at-home group and worked with them 2 years, including a temporary supervisor during the holidays. if you can follow the requirements and be patient with callers, you'll do great!

I was overjoyed at the attendance at the August meeting and give kudos to Jane M. for being the catalyst for getting this up and running.

I wanted to ask how we can avoid the mistakes of the old CFIDs group which I heard became very negative at the end. I am also concerned with the vast distances that many PWC must drive in order to attend meetings.

I belive strongly in the value of knowledge and communication, so I am constantly expannding my resources and library of books. As far as some of the issues suffered by PWCs, I have several excellent books to recommend to members which include: REAL SUCCESS WITHOUT A REAL JOB by Ernie Zelinski, ENCOUNTERS WITH THE INVISIBLE by Dorothy Wall, and 101 SECRETS FOR A GREAT RETIREMENT by Mary Helen and Shuford Smith. If you cannot afford to pick up a copy, I would be happy to lend you a copy from my "lending library".
Please let me know.
Wishing you all good health and happiness until our next meeting.

General
It's like wearing one of those lead aprons used by dentists when you get x-rays. Imagine wearing it all day, everyday.

Get rid of clutter. If you don’t love it, get rid of it! It not only clutters your home but it clutters your mind.

If you’re eligible for a handicap parking tag, get it and use it. There’s no nobility in expending precious energy on a parking lot. :) With the energy I save, I can do other things, like help with this website.

If you can afford to hire a maid, do it. If not and you qualify for a care provider through insurance or Medicare, do it. Mine is a savior. A clean house makes you feel better. If you need help ask for it. I help folks pro bono with all benefits including DHS things.
