Work at Home Reputable Companies

Submmited by Opal for Houston CFIDS Members.

There are several reputable places, though some are harder to get to work for than others.† A lot of these have fairly stringent computer guide lines, and some require you to have a high speed connection, and a land line (no cell phones, or voice over IP, or cable phone service), but these are all reputable, I know people that work for them. If you know of any others please notify Jane at info@houstoncfids.org

Here is a list that I got from some of my stay at home mom friends:

www.workathomeagents.com – this is with West, they are based in San Antonio;

www.workingsol.com www.liveops.com – it apparently takes a bit of time to get to work with them;

www.alpineaccess.com/external/index.html  – Alpine Access – I applied and was not hired, I think because of my time out of the work force, but I don’t know for sure;

www.voicelog.com / – Voicelog they have some work at home positions;

www.verafast.net / – home based verifiers;

www.4.1800flowers.com/template.do?id=template8&page=9000 ww4.1800flowers.com – I hear they do hire people that work from home, though I also hear they have a waiting list;

www.newsstand.com / -  I hear they pay well this is proof reading.

i worked at 2 great at-home agencies, http://www.liveops.com (2006-2009) and teletech. (two years, approximately 2006-2008) they are both WONDERFUL companies to work for. all legitimate. no outgoing sales, although you can sign up for that with liveops. i worked all incoming customer service calls. if you’re interested, don’t give up. keep applying and checking on your status. submit a resume that will focus on “phone” experience and getting along with people. with liveops, YOU pick your own hours through 30 minute scheduling blocks. it will probably take about 2 months before you know the routine and are getting as many hours as you want and there are times when business is slow, but you can always take advantage of it by doing paperwork, crafts, etc till calls start coming in. now (holidays) is a wonderful time to get on and since YOU decide which 30 minute shifts you want, you can always work liveops as a second job. teletech is still only part-time, but they used to be a wonderful group. i was in the first at-home group and worked with them 2 years, including a temporary supervisor during the holidays. if you can follow the requirements and be patient with callers, you’ll do great!
